Yeah but even still, you wouldn't have been able to compete with my Lady. She's smart, kind, witty and could kick butt. She's amazing in every way. [And he starts having that lovestruck look Chat was making earlier. What was he saying about not being a cheater? He quickly does snap out of it and coughs.] But obviously nothing can happen as long as I'm with Alya and I still love her, so that ain't happening. That's where you got the ring? Actually now that I think about it, the same thing happened to me but I wasn't at school. It was in the Paris streets. I wanted to go to a concert and I was late, but I saw an old man fall down and couldn't get back up. I helped him get back up and get back home, but I ended up missing the concert. Then when I got home, I found the ring there in a black box. [Even though he doesn't remember everything from that AU, he's got a lot of memories still it seems like.]

Not much? We didn't do much together other than her interrupting our first fight and rescuing me from that building. Which she repaired with Lucky Charm by the way. Otherwise I mostly did patrols. Yep. I was able to convince her to let me hold onto the case for you. I told her I felt like I was in "debt" to Chat Noir for trying to save me.

I just suspect there's a certain personality quirked looked for in Chat Noir's to avoid...that. Same reason why Papillon has nothing to burn with me usually.

...I think my parents were way more strict in that other life. Like to your old man's levels of strict. I don't remember much of it, but I rather not remember in this case.

[While he wasn't rich in the AU, his parents weren't nearly as loving as they are in canon. As a result, AU Nino had a tendency to focus more on others rather than himself, and his reasons for becoming a DJ were to make others happy with music. Not as much simply loving music.]

She wanted to be a superhero more than My Lady. She took a while to warm up to the idea, even now she does it more for duty, I think.

I never realized that your Lady might have those kind of feelings about her superhero role. It never seemed like she was miserable at all, but I guess she masked that.

Miserable is a strong word. She had self doubts. Its rare that she isn't confident and sure, but it happens, and that's part of what I do. Ladybug is the brains, and I'm the heart. When her feelings get her in a state, I help her center. When I want to rush in, she pulls my tail to rethink.

Its why the synching is important. Not just in combat, but being able to step in and do what your partner needs to make sure you can handle everything with the job.

[Another nod.] My Lady also tended to pull my tail back whenever I wanted to rush in too. So there's some similarities. We were able to take down Akumas back home, but you're right. If my Lady and I are gonna be any help here, we need to get back in synch with each other.

Paris is...easier. In part because Plagg and Tikki monitored powers and helped with learning some of the necessary instincts. Now it's all on us to make sure everything is covered and we can kind of rely on what we're been through, but there's tripping points.

Having every advantage is important.

No, none at all. Not even in that other life. [Basically as Chat he was always winging it and had relied on his baton more than he likely should have. Especially against Renard.]
