Character: Nino Lahiffe
Canon: Miraculous Ladybug, during Mega Leech (season 4, episode 10), Forgotten Tales CRAU
Age: 15 (assumed, he might actually be 14 but who knows?)
Background Information: Wikia link (Note: It only has the first three seasons of information due to season four still airing as of this writing.)
In Forgotten Tales, characters arrive in a fairytale world called the Index, where they are given the "essence" of a character and gain powers as well as have their appearance altered. It can be storybook characters, characters from fairytales, gods and goddesses, or in Nino's case, a mythological creature. Nino's essence was the Kappa, which meant his appearance changed greatly (Described here), but still kept his human face and height. He also gained some abilities based on the Kappa.
With the Kappa essence, his diet had changed to where most of the time, he would eat cucumbers and in the first month in FT, he only needed to eat that. But starting from the second month onward until the game's closure, he also needed to drink blood. Making him semi-vampiric.
Since he'll no longer have the Kappa essence, he'll be fully human again, and thus no longer need to drink blood. Though he'll likely still eat cucumbers out of habit from time to time, or if he's stressed enough to stress eat cucumbers.
***He was among those in the Peter Pan world trying to save it, but in the end, he was thrown back to his world instead of Songerein. He went through the events of season 4 from the first episode to the new canon point. During Mega Leech, Nino, along with the rest of the class, helped to protest against cutting down trees to add in a tall skyscraper and sell bottled airaka the plot of the Lorax movie, when the mayor got akumaized again. He briefly got mind controlled by the akuma, but was freed and even recruited to help save the day.
Before he could return the miraculous near the end of the episode, he passed out and ended up in Songerein instead. ***
Personality: Nino is a chill dude who loves to party, especially if he's the DJ, have fun, and hang out with friends.
He's very willing to help out others in need, though he wasn't always that way. Before the akumas started happening, he kept to himself and didn't go out of his way for someone. After Stoneheart though, he started to improve himself as a person as he looks at Ladybug and Chat Noir as role models for him.
He will also do what he can to cheer up others when they need it, and tends to have quite a lot of energy and enthusiasm, as well as compassion. He also doesn't really hold grudges that easily and has a strong sense of right and wrong. To the point where he'll get frustrated if he sees an injustice and be unable to fix it.
He is very loyal to his loved ones, though a bit to unhealthy levels as he can be self destructive. He willingly sacrificed himself so that Alya wouldn't be alone, not caring what happens to himself.
He can be very stubborn and one-track minded when he's super focused on something, and he can get rather easily frustrated if things aren't going his way while he's overly focused on his goals.
He also is very insecure with his appearance. This is reflected in both how he doesn't react well to having Chameleon steal his hat, and how both his normal form and as Carapace, he has his head covered.
He's also really bad at lying, and also as noted above, has messed up once that got him found out by Alya.
In terms of any other development he had in FT, he didn't change all that much due to only have been there for a few monthsmuch like Empatheias. At most you could say he got some trauma from almost killing Makoto when he needed blood for the first time. But that's about it.
Abilities & Inventory:
Turtle Miraculous: With Wayzz, his Kwami, it allows him to transform into Carapace, a turtle based superhero. It gives him enhanced strength, endurance and agility, as well as being very resilient to physical damage/attacks. Though he can still feel pain.
Uniquely to him, he has the ability to create an energy shield called Shell-ter. It's one-time use per transformation, but it can withstand quite a bit. It's not unbreakable however and can be destroyed. The size of the shield can vary in size, but for balancing purposes, it'll be limited in size here.
The Miraculous magic creates a glamour (aka Clark Kent) effect where he's not recognized as Nino right away. It doesn't block outright announcing or revealing himself to the world or others, or if the person in question is close enough to Nino to figure it out if he slips up.
Parkour: He's quite skilled at it, even being able to do so while holding ice cream.
DJ knowledge: He has done small time DJ gigs for parties (and even a fashion show), so he knows how to work with a mixing table as well as create music.
Horror movie knowledge: He's very familiar with horror movie tropes and has even made a horror movie with his phone for school once.
Sumo Wrestling and Judo: The only thing from his Kappa essence that's carrying over. He has the knowledge of both and can preform it, but he would need to practice to master both.
As a Kappa, he had the ability to breathe underwater (which started out as him being able to hold his breath a long time), which he could regain through dreamotion energy.
***He had a fake copy of the Turtle Miraculous, which wasn't magical or anything, as a regain prize in FT. Of course he would have to get that back later. ***
Suitability & Plans: I want to have him grow as a character, as well as seeing where he goes character development wise. I would like to have him gain more confidence in himself and mature.
Nino is very friendly and generally a nice person, so generally making positive CR isn't a problem. He can be the friendly superhero on duty or providing a good party for others. Or just being a good friend in general.
While castmates are ideal, Nino can work as a LCW (Lone Canon Warrior). And figuring out things for him to do shouldn't be a problem due to Nino's creativity and drive.
