HISTORY IN-DEPTH: Wikia link Nino has gone through a lot, dealing with akuma attacks from Hawkmoth, getting a girlfriend, becoming the turtle superhero Carapace, and getting akumaized multiple times. Even recently traveling to New York City. And no doubt more adventures await him later on. More details Note: Most of this is from an earlier app but updated for his current canonpoint and switching Papillion to Hawkmoth for the sake of convenience. Nino Lahiffe is a teenager who lives with his mother (and presumably a father though we haven't seen either parents yet in canon as of this writing), and a little brother named Chris who's five years old. Not much is known about his home life though he does seem to do DJ gigs aside of going to school. Not much is known about how things were before the akumas started, but it seems that he kept to himself and didn't seem to have any friends, though he had at least known Chloe and Marinette for at least one school year. Then the akumas started, and in the second day of school met Adrien Agreste. He didn't have a good first impression of him as Adrien is friends with Chloe, but when Adrien willingly took the blame for Chloe's prank and he told him that Chloe was his only friend, he willingly became friends with Adrien. He himself got akumaized on Adrien's birthday when Adrien's father Gabriel Agreste not only refused to let Adrien have a birthday party, but when Nino tried to convince him, he got thrown out and told he was forbidden from being Adrien's friend. As the akuma Bubbler, he trapped nearly ever adult in Paris in bubbles and sent them up to the sky. He then kidnapped his classmates and forced them to throw a birthday party at Adrien's mansion, with himself as DJ. He threatened them and even sent Ivan up into the sky. When Ladybug and Chat Noir showed up and the classmates refuse to listen to him, he sent them up into the sky as well. He also had trapped the two superheroes and sent them up, but Chat was able to free himself and Ladybug. He was defeated and deakumaized. He has no memory of what happened, but his friendship with Adrien solidifies and they become best friends. After some time from akuma shenanigans, including attempting to shoot a movie with his phone while an akuma named Horrifcator, another change happens. During an incident where an akuma named Animan had let the animals in the zoo loose, he and Alya were forced into one of the animal cages by Ladybug for their own safety. While trapped there, he and Alya bonded and ended up starting a romantic relationship with each other. Which was ironic as earlier that day, Adrien was trying to help Nino get a date with Marinette who he had a crush on. When his teacher got akumaized into Zombizou and turned nearly everyone in Paris into kissing zombies (they weren't actually undead thankfully), he escaped with the two superheroes and a few of his classmates that didn't get turned. The group sadly got smaller and smaller until it was just Ladybug, Chat Noir, Chloe, Alya and himself. When Alya got attacked and turned when trying to get the elevator in the Eiffel Tower working, Nino willingly chose to stay behind so that Alya didn't have to be alone, even though that meant getting turned into a kising zombie himself. As well as allow the heroes to just focus on protecting Chloe. Thankfully he, Alya and everyone else got turned back to normal because of Ladybug's powers. On the day there was going to be fireworks due to France winning the World Cup, Alya's big sister Nora tried to keep Alya from going due to her being overprotective. Marinette convinced Nino to do an arm wrestling contest with Nora to allow Alya to go. While he didn't do too well at first, Marinette tricked Nora into looking away and forced their hands down so that Nino would win. This ends up getting Nora akumaized and later she attacks them as Anansi, and kidnapping Alya. He tries to go after her and try to rescue Alya on his own, but it's no good. Ladybug comes to him and offers him the Turtle Miraculous and help her save Alya. He accepts and becomes Carapace for the first time. He helps Ladybug with taking Anansi down and protects everyone with Shell-ter though he slipped up with Alya, who figured him out right away. He gave back the Miraculous once it was safe to do so. On Heroes Day, Hawkmoth got himself a power-up which allowed him to akumaize multiple people at the same time and attacked people after having Volpina trick nearly everyone into believing that Chat is dead and Ladybug had been akumaized. He and Alya were spared from the red akumas and got recruited at the same time by Ladybug to help her save Paris. During the fight with Hawkmoth's akuma army, Dark Cupid tried to hit him with one of his arrows but Rena Rouge blocks the attack, falling under Dark Cupid's spell. He tries to get her to snap out of it, but it's no use and she gets akuamized into Rena Rage. This pushes Carapace into despair, causing him to be akumaized into Carapire/Shell Shock. Thankfully he was returned to normal once Ladybug freed the akumas from Hawkmoth's control, and he re-joined Ladybug and Chat Noir along with Rena Rouge and Queen Bee to help try to take Hawkmoth down. They almost succeed but then he got rescued by a sentimonster that Mayura created. They realized that Hawkmoth wasn't working alone anymore. For a while he and Alya would sometimes be called to help Ladybug out with akumas. During one incident where Sabrina was akumaized into Miraculer, it had been quite difficult and he even got his powers stolen by her. With Queen Bee's help, they took down Miraculer though failed to capture Mayura. Then later, Nino decided to try to throw Adrien a party to make up for the Bubbler incident, but behind Gabriel's back to prevent another Bubbler incident. He came up with a scheme for him, and three other male classmates to lie to the girls from their class and bribe their way into Adrien's house. It worked and Nino threw a male only party for Adrien. This end up backfiring not only because Marinette managed to sneak into the party with a disguise, but it got a guy named Wayhem akumaized into Party Crasher. He got the miraculous from Fu, who sneaked it to him in a box, and he tried to help Chat Noir take down Party Crasher after he had gotten Ladybug. He and two other heroes, Viperion and Pegasus tried to fight him, but unfortunately Viperion got taken trying to save Carapace. And he gets captured next. Thankfully with the help of the new hero, King Monkey (who was Kim), they all got freed and the day was saved. Nino also apologized to Marinette for his actions. During a trip to the wax museum, Alya tried to manipulate things to force Marinette to confess her feelings for Adrien, but Nino's inability to lie properly only ends up in-directly causing the little girl Manon to get akumaized again, but it makes things worse between Adrien and Marinette. Before the timeline was corrected, Nino died with everyone else when Chat Noir got akuamized and accidentally lost control of his powers, causing everyone to turn into stone statues and blow up half the moon. Causing Paris to get flooded. When Hawkmoth akumaizes Chloe's parents and then Chloe herself after giving her the Bee Miraculous that got stolen from Master Fu, Nino had been among those under the akuma's mind control. Although he didn't transform, it's pretty clear Hawkmoth now knows that he is Carapace, so the chances of him becoming Carapace again isn't super high. Sometime after that, Nino and his class travel to New York City to celebrate the friendship between France and the United States. Since superheroes there didn't have secret identities (including the US President, who is a superhero herself), he got to meet different heroes and got to try out a secret hotdog that temporarily gave out superpowers he and Alya only got their voices chipmunk'ed =/ ) Chaos erupted with Paris getting attacked and for once, no Ladybug to restore things, and the american superheroes went crazy due to Hawkmoth giving his latest akuama the Eagle Miraculous, which allowed one to break a person "free" from something. More details Note: Also copied from an earlier app. Nino is a chill dude who loves to party, especially if he's the DJ, have fun, and hang out with friends. He's very willing to help out others in need, though he wasn't always that way. Before the akumas started happening, he kept to himself and didn't go out of his way for someone. After Stoneheart though, he started to improve himself as a person as he looks at Ladybug and Chat Noir as role models for him. He will also do what he can to cheer up others when they need it, and tends to have quite a lot of energy and enthusiasm, as well as compassion. He also doesn't really hold grudges that easily and has a strong sense of right and wrong. To the point where he'll get frustrated if he sees an injustice and be unable to fix it. He is very loyal to his loved ones, though a bit to unhealthy levels as he can be self destructive. As noted above, he willingly sacrificed himself so that Alya wouldn't be alone, not caring what happens to himself. He can be very stubborn and one-track minded when he's super focused on something, and he can get rather easily frustrated if things aren't going his way while he's overly focused on his goals. He also is very insecure with his appearance. This is reflected in both how he doesn't react well to having Chameleon steal his hat, and how both his normal form and as Carapace, he has his head covered. He's also really bad at lying, and also as noted above, has messed up once that got him found out by Alya. ABILITIES WEAPONS: Any kind of shield. Maybe his turtle shell too? STYLE: His fighting style is pretty similar to Captain America's, but more defensive since his role is providing protection. SKILLS: He's a skilled DJ that can work with mixing tables, and make his own music. He is pretty knowledgeable about music, as well as film tropes (mostly of the horror kind). STRENGTHS: He's good at parkour, he's quite skilled at DJing and having a lot of knowledge when it comes to music, he's also knowledgable about movie cliches though it's mostly horror movies and has made a horror movie of his own once. WEAKNESSES: He can be single-minded when he hyper focuses on something and will get more frustrated while in that mode, as well as be very stubborn. He has huge insecurities with his looks and his masculinity.
