Magical Girl Storm AU details
Adrien and Nino are childhood friends and magical princes from separate kingdoms in another world. At first things were happy but then Adrien's mother, the Queen, dies. Suddenly, strange things start happening. Adrien notices dark figures that vanish around the castle (in reality Akuma practice).
The boys try to get to the king, Gabriel, to warn him about a possible invasion when they suddenly find themselves on Earth. Adrien having been turned into a cat. And through one means or another, they hear about this King Papillon taking over Adrien's kingdom and cursing him, as well as having put Gabriel in a coma. Not realizing that the king is Papillion.
They manage to get magic rings from Plagg. Which not only allows them to transform into Chat Noir, the magical warrior, but that it exploits a loophole. Mainly that they must swap between human and cat forms.
When Adrien's human, Nino's a cat (Chartreux).
When Nino's human, Adrien's a cat.
They can both be Chat Noir, but then it's double time. If they don't hurry, they will both be stuck as cats for a while.
Adrien insists Nino be human so they have a schedule and have to alternate anyway.
Marinette and Alya gain the ability to transform and use magic as Ladybug as a result of both boys giving them a True Love's Kiss (since they are magic princes). They are not aware they did such a thing so they don't know either Ladybug's identities.
They cannot tell them about their curse because if they do, not only would both boys become cats permanently but the girls would then suffer the cat curse. Plus both girls caught them testing out their powers (going from cats to Chat and Chats to cats). So the boys have to try to find them without the suits.
The girls would need to figure out the magic cats = Adrien and Nino in order to break the curse on them.
